Your Thursday Night Plans: Fashion Bloggers Do It Better (The Summer Edition)

{Me and The Wordy Girl gearing up for the catwalk Thursday night.}

I realize there are a slew of events happening this Thursday. Why, oh why, does that always happen? One week it’s dead as a doorknob, and then next, there’s a mill things happening all on the same night and you wish someone would just hurry up and market a “make-a-me” clone kit you could pick up at Target so you don’t miss a beat. Anyhoo …

This week there’s the Modern Luxury Brides South Florida & the Caribbean launch party, the Her City Card soiree at Lorie Lester Studio + Boutique and the event you need to make sure you don’t miss: Fashion Bloggers Do It Better. I’m selfishly plugging this last one because I’ll be tromping down the runway in a chic dress from GuyandGirl Boutique alongside my favorite Miami fashion bloggers: hosts Annie Vazquez of The Fashion Poet and Eugy & Simonett of The Goodwill Project, as well as Daniela Ramirez (Nany’s Kloset), Maria Tettamanti (The Wordy Girl), Ana_Ortuño (Chic Street and Eats), Kristin Clark (Living in Color Print), Angeles Almuna (Angeles Almuna), Vanessa Ferrer (The Very Thought of You), Kiana Barnes (Young Wilde Free), Maika (The Glam Life Blog), Nicole Jordan (Front Row Spectator), Mayleen Gonzalez (Word in Fashion), Lori Riviere (Shortcuts to Fabulous) and Casey Garcia (Sweet Savvy Street). We’ll all be sporting looks from local boutiques, so come out and show your support.

If you didn’t make it to the last edition, you missed out on savvy shopping. I scored two turbands from the adorbs David John Acosta of Gold Saturn and Our Prince of Peace. And I  snatched up a root beer gloss from Tinte Cosmetics. I also discovered a couple of new boutiques, like Alessandra Gold

This go round Erin Chainani will be there making her awesome neon sketches, Collins Bridge will be promoting its geek-chic frames and local boutiques will be selling their stuff. So, no matter where else you land Thursday night, make it a point to stop and shop here first. Just promise to keep laughter to a minimin should I become runway roadkill.

The party gets started at 7 p.m. Thursday night at Ricochet at 3250 Buena Vista Blvd. in Midtown. The fashion show kicks down the catwalk at 9 p.m.
