Fashion for a Cause

I wish October was only known as the month where we dress up in fun costumes and enjoy sweet treats. I wish October wasn’t the month we had to think about how 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will develop beast cancer in their lifetime. I wish statistics like an estimated 246, 660 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women this year alone, weren’t a part of this month, or any other month for that matter. But, until we find a cure for breast cancer, those statistics are as much a part of our October as the last day of the month. And that’s why this month we put on pink and we raise awareness and funds for a cause that has affected so many of us— either directly or indirectly, through a loved one, a friend, even a fellow blogger. It’s why for a…Read More

Fall Staples: Sweater and Suede

{Wearing: AYNI Sweater and Skirt: c/o My Home Fashion Boutique. Maroon Suede Heels: c/o T.J. Maxx. Makeup: c/o Glamsquad with Celina Beach Artistry. Next, a great pair of skinny jeans. Add in a lacy top. When it comes to the last two, make sure you have a suede skirt and a sweater, like these from AYNI, all of which you can find at My Home Fashion Boutique. This last look from my fall essentials series is my favorite. Suede is the go-to fabric this season and this skirt captures the whole ’70s vibe with its patchwork feel. With maroon taking the color wheel by storm, the must-have attraction to this skirt makes perfect sense. Since sweaters and Miami go…Read More

Fall Staples: Denim and Lace

{Wearing: Lace Neck Top: c/o My Home Fashion Boutique. Mia & Moss Jeans: c/o My Home Fashion Boutique. Maroon Suede Heels: c/o T.J. Maxx. Makeup: c/o Glamsquad with Celina Beach Artistry. The first two were a classic white tee and a leather skirt, which I scored at My Home Fashion Boutique. My next two are another round of basics that you will find yourself living in—a dainty, feminine blouse and a great pair of dark jeans, also from My Home Fashion Boutique. I opted for a lacy top to keep the look soft. Lace, for me, has a vintage feel that I swoon for. And I’m a sucker for black skinny jeans. They go with absolutely everything. For instance,…Read More

You want so badly to dress for it, but the weather won’t let you. And that’s why Miami girls have to do fall a little differently. In the next few days, I’ll be sharing my essentials for fall—Miami fall, anyway—all of which you can find at My Home Fashion Boutique, an awesome new store in Miami at 14681 Biscayne Blvd. To kick things off, let’s start with two basics: A classic white tee and a leather skirt. The ’70s and ’90s are making a big revival this season, and…Read More

Seasonal Change

{Wearing: Swimsuit: Bianca Coletti White Reversible Bikini. Necklace: Gold Malas Necklace c/o Malka.} September 22 marks the first day of fall. But around here, you wouldn’t know it. In fact, I tried. I tried really hard to wear jeans twice this week. The first was to an outdoor lunch with Claire’s and Icing at PAMM. About four minutes into the experience, a warmth washed over me. You know, the kind that makes you irritable for no reason? Suddenly you go from happy to just annoyed. With everything: your life, your job, your car, your dog, Emily Blunt. You’re cranky, but you don’t know why. It isn’t until the thin layer of perspiration starts to form under your clothes and all the makeup you’ve spent quality time and product on begins to bead around your mouth, creating a sweat mustache, that you realize, dammit, it’s still too hot to wear anything in…Read More

Road Trip: Surfing USA

{Wearing: Bikini: Mix and Match Mara Hoffman c/o Madewell. Sunnies: Touchdolls.com. Photographed by Jorge Camaraza.} Let’s go surfing! As long as I’ve been a Floridian (two-plus decades), I’ve never actually gone surfing before. But when Jorge suggested we grab our modern day Brady bunch crew, throw them in a Toyota 4Runner, (a gift the company offered up for Labor Day weekend) and head to Coco Beach to test out the waves, I was all in. And not only because it was the perfect last chance to wear all the bikinis I fell in love with this summer, like my new ones from Madewell and Liquido, but because I couldn’t wait to try something new. I’ve done paddle boarding a lot and I really like it. So this was taking that to a whole new level. Plus, Coco Beach is only three hours away from Miami, so it was a quick trip for the long weekend….Read More

Happy Hour at a Spa—Brilliant

{Wearing: Sunnies: Touch. Nails: Geleration in Dynamic c/o Guy and Girl Spa.} Summer is coming to a grinding halt, which means we’re all headed back to where we came from after months of travel, late bedtimes, seeing new places, trying new things. And coming home is well, hard. That’s why we have to make an attempt to find things to make us feel better about being here. Here’s one: Happy Hour at Guy and Girl Spa. On September 1, the spa at the Mondrian kicked off a spa happy hour that runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 7 p.m. Services include the Signature Massage (50 minutes for $89), the Facial (50 minutes for $89 and with choice of eye or lip treatment) and Express Mani & Pedi (60 minutes for $75 and with choice of hand or foot paraffin treatment). Services come with a complimentary glass of champs. I…Read More

Making an Entrance

{Wearing: Dress: c/o T.J. Maxx. Shoes: Nordstrom Rack. Hair: c/o Glamsquad. Earrings: c/o Tarbay.} “The entrance strategy is actually more important than the exist strategy.” Today is September 1, which means a whole new month is knocking on the door and it’s time to let it in. National Yoga Month, the end of summer, the beginning of fall and fall fashion—and the nearing of pumpkin season (hell yes I am that girl). That’s a lot for a 30-day span. But don’t worry, we can fit it all in. Since it is National Yoga Month, and I have yogi tendencies, I’m treating the month like I’d treat the beginning of a yoga class—by setting an intention. I encourage you to do the same. So what’s mine? To revamp. Just as fall ushers in an entirely new season of fashion, a time to throw out the worn and bring in a fresh…Read More

My PCH Seekender Adventure: The Color Purple

{Wearing: Celeste Top Rock: c/o SolKissed and Cusco Barely Bottom Rock: c/o SolKissed. Necklace: c/o Express. Photographed by Jorge Camaraza.}  Walking away from what we’d seen on our first stop in Big Sur was hard. I never wanted to let go of it, this most beautiful edge of the world I’d ever seen. But there was more to see. I zipped up my jacket. There was a briskness to the air that was intriguing. It fit with the sharp edges of the cliffs, their deep waters below. The beaches seemed so far beneath, so truly different than back home, where life and land were flat and the beach lay just before you. I wasn’t sure I would actually step foot on the beach, I felt so far away from it. I wasn’t sure I wanted to, it was cold. So cold. And then I remembered before leaving Monterey, our Hampton By Hilton concierge…Read More
