Meet the Team Who Gives Me #MySassoonStyle

{Hair by Sassoon in Miami Beach. This photograph by Jorge Camaraza.} That’s me up there, having a good hair day, thanks to the hair whisperers at Sassoon in Miami Beach. I’ve been a part of the long hair team for about two years now, and being a part of that tribe takes a lot maintenance. Nearly once a month, I slip into Sassoon for a hair transformation, to keep these long locks in line. I know that when I get there, Ronnie, my colorist will take whatever damage Miami has done to my hair (sun eating my color, chlorine fading my hue, age turning my brown locks grey) and reverse it. Once she gets her hands on my strands I know its only a matter of time before I’m a rich, deep, chocolate brunette. Afterward, she always treats me to a Kerastase mask that loads my hair with shine that goes the…Read More

That Time I Got to be a Bikini Model at Splashion 2016

{Wearing: Peony. Photographed by Thaddaeus McAdams/exclusiveaccess.net} {Wearing: Laundry by Shelli Segal. With: Ria Michelle, I’m Not Sorry Darling, Uncle Luke, Brickellista, Kelly Saks and (my lifelong swim week sista for more years than either of us can remember) The Wordy Girl. Photographed by Thaddaeus McAdams/exclusiveccess.net} Year after year, as July creeps into the middle of our summer, we make our way to the tents of swim week. We go to the rooftop parties. We snap pics of models in bikinis. We wish our legs were that long. We realize just how short our legs are. And we sweat—in hair, in makeup, in outfits we obsess over putting together, backstage, front of house, front row, on rooftops, at presentations, at breakfasts, waiting for Ubers. Swim week is one of my favorite weeks in Miami, but I’ve been going for so long (since its inception), I can’t even remember which year I’m on. While its fun, it…Read More

My PCH Seekender Adventure: The Road to Monterey

{Wearing: Motorcycle Jacket: Zara. Crochet Top: c/o Kore. Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters. Motorcycle Boots: Steve Madden. Sunnies: c/o T.J. Maxx. Photographed By Jorge Camaraza.} We sped off into the beautiful California day, leaving San Francisco behind, pressing onward to Monterey, the second stop on our Pacific Coast Highway adventure. Oh, Monterey. The things I had heard. The photos I had seen. None of them, however, would compare to what my own eyes would behold. The day was starting to cool down, the sun no longer directly above. The wind whipped at us, I zipped up my motorcycle jacket to keep her nip at bay. As we careened through the path, wildflowers surrounding us on either side, I spotted two doe running across the road. I felt like the intruder in their world, this place that was so crisp and pristine. God’s country, that’s where we had found ourselves. The sheer beauty,…Read More

Because I’m Happy—Tous Happy Moments Giveaway

{Tous Happy Moments Perfume and Necklace.} It’s summer, which makes me happy. The weather, the sunshine, the beach, not having to drag a kiddo out of bed and off to school—it all culminates to fill me with bliss and endless happy moments. What I’m most excited about is pulling suitcases out of the top of the closet and filling them more than a few times this summer. The wanderlust is coursing through my veins. I’m ready to see new parts of the world, taste their flavors, see new sights and make new moments. Since the summer is all about making memories and moments, I thought it would be fitting to share a bottle of Tous’ Happy Moments with one of my readers. Not only does Tous have beautiful and fun baubles, like my cute arrow necklace, it also has a host of fun fragrances, just waiting to be worn on…Read More

Down in New Orleans

{Wearing: One of a Kind Crop Top & Shorts: c/o Krel. Booties: Target (yes, Target). Sunnies: Aldo. Bag: c/o T.J. Maxx. Photographed by Jorge Camaraza.} I’m going to admit something that jiggles my own mind: Up until a wee bit ago I had never been to New Orleans. OK, so? A lot of people haven’t been there. But I grew up a portion of my life in Destin, Florida, which is a hop, skip and jump away. My entire high school went there for Mardi Gras, for weekends, for whatever. And in return all of New Orleans came to Destin for spring break and summer vacays. The two cities have a symbiotic relationship that I got a one-sided deal from. For whatever reason, I never made the trip. It just never happened. The last car to New Orleans was always in drive without me in it. Until recently. When a friend…Read More

0 Marks the Spot

{Wearing: Blush Romper. Necklace: Vintage. Wedges: Steve Madden. Photographed by Jorge Camaraza.} That’s me jumping on the bed, like I do anytime I check into a hotel. The chic teal robe? It belongs to The Marker Resort Key West, the stunning resort that took me in for a relaxing weekend excursion. I haven’t been to Key West in over a decade, so it was amazing to revisit a place I’ve always had a soft spot for. Only this go-round was different from past trips. Getting there happened via motorcycle. I’ve never done that before. I’ve never even ridden on a bike in Miami. To feel the warm air, as opposed to the mountain air I’ve gotten used to feeling, was spectacular, a change of pace. Riding over the 7 Mile Bridge, surrounded by water, sunset looming—postcard status. Wish you were here. We brought the bike to a halt as we neared…Read More

And Now a Post on the Importance of Deodorant …

{Introduced by Simply Stylist, I’ve partnered with Dove to make the #EssentialUpgrade to an antiperspirant that can go as long as 48 hours, moisturizes and smells amaze.} Deodorant, it’s not really something you think about—aside from when you need to restock—but it’s definitely something you don’t want to live without. Especially in Miami. For obvious reasons. Turns out, as I learned at a recent Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant event, there’s more to a stick of deodorant than meets the, well, underarm. Since skin is summer’s never-ending trend, I want to make sure mine is soft and smooth for the season, which is why I’ve opted to do some laser hair removal (more to come on that soon). I shared all of this with Dr. Barba of Barba Skin Cinic during a wonderful exfoliating session at the event. After hearing my story, she suggested I chuck my current deodorant and give Dove…Read More

Doorstep Dining

{Lunch courtesy of Fresh is Better.} Hello, my name is Ginger and I do not cook. I do not want to cook. I do not have time to cook. I just want food to magically arrive when I’m hungry or need to feed the people around me. Guess what? That’s a thing! This past week the peeps behind Fresh is Better (FIB) delivered three days worth of meals to my doorstep each morning. All I had to do was go online, pick my food genre (traditional, paleo, vegetarian or gluten-free) and size preference and tada, daily meal delivery pre-dawn that consisted of breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks. No cooking, no dishes, no stress. Just three squares made from fresh ingredients. With portion control, fresh ingredients and now-ability (meaning I’m not shoveling cookies in my mouth while I wait for something to get delivered), I’m on the road to healthy eating for summer’s bikini…Read More

Taking the Plunge with #MarshallsSurprise

{Wearing: Neon Mix and Match High-Waisted Bikini: c/o Marshalls. Snorkel Mask: c/o Marshalls. Photographed By Jorge Camaraza.} Marshalls recently asked me to be part of a blogger challenge where the goal was to shop for items that inspire you to try something new. Since trying new things has kind of been my theme for the past few years now here on the blog, I gladly accepted. And I knew exactly what to look for as I stepped into the Marshalls at Midtown Miami. An upcoming trip to Key West meant I’d have a chance to go snorkeling. So, I searched through the racks for a cute new bikini and snorkel gear, finding both successfully. I absolutely love this bright, bold high-waisted bikini. I found it by mixing two different ones together, so now I have two new bikinis to enjoy. Ultimate bonus: the snorkel gear matches. So why is snorkeling…Read More
