As much as I love playing dress up, I equally love dressing down. I’m talking about the comfy stuff. The stuff you throw on the minute you unbind yourself from the restricting clothes you wore to work. Enter Peace Love World.
I initially came across the brand when a publicist mailed me a sweatshirt so I could familiarize myself with Miami designer Alina Villasante’s work. It just so happened to arrive at mi casa that one weird week in Miami when it got cold. I put the sweatshirt on, declared it the softest thing on planet earth, tucked my thumb into the thumb holes on the sleeves and didn’t take it off for a solid week. Comments like “Don’t you own other clothes” came from the mouths of family members. But I didn’t care. I decided they were just jealous bc their loungewear wasn’t nearly as deliciously soft as mine.
Shortly after sweatshirt gate, I met Alina at the Pink Ribbon Project we did to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. She’s amazing. Her goal in life is to spread positivity. And she does it through clothes that once you get on you don’t want to take off. It’s kind of brilliant. I’ve gone on to interview Alina several times. And shop her store a little too often. I’m happy to support people who want to make the world a better place. And if they just happen to be clothing designers, well win-win for me.
You could say I’m a little obsessed. But if you want to be comfy while running errands and inspire someone with a dose of positivity, what’s wrong with that? Absolutely nothing. Go ahead, spread the love.
