Electric Blogarella: How did you get into designing shoes?

Trish: I worked at Glamour Magazine as a footwear editor and fell in love with shoes. It started a love affair that lead to design for companies internationally and, eventually, to the launch of my label “Miss Trish.”

EB: Tell us about your new collection.

T: My previous label “Miss Trish of Capri” has now moved from Capri to the beaches around the world. “Miss Trish” I like to say is in Rio, Ibizia, Bora Bora and St. Tropez. The inspiration is the jet-set lifestyle, a glam mix of exotic zebra and leopard with oversized cabochons, sun-baked vachetta braided with seajewels in glass, bubble-printed canvas on wedges and capri flat sandals. Very beach, perfect with a white jean or swimsuit.

EB: What was the inspiration for this collection?

T: The beaches of the world, from the blue lagoon in Capri to the turquoise water of St. Barts to the lush tropics of Bora Bora — all my favorite beaches.

EB: What is your favorite look from this line?

T: The “DAKTARI,” a cool, calfhair leopard sandal with cabochons.

Miss Trish is perfect for Miami in spring and summer.

EB: Spring shoe trends include:

T: Neon, sexy wedges, capri sandals, glam, jewels, pop art, animal prints.

EB: You are really big on embellishments, where do you get your inspiration for this?

T: My life is all about sparkle. I love the mix of sporty plus glam. I have collected jewelry for years. I think it finishes off a look, especially on footwear. It give the customer a chance to collect new styles every season to build on their Miss Trish wardrobe.

EB: Give us a head-to-toe look with your shoes.

T: Imagine a chic, jet-set woman off the beach headed for lunch at a resort. She is wearing a swimsuit underneath a crocheted short, white gauze oversized shirt open, a single, long chain pendant with coins, mirror gold sunglasses (very ’70s), hair wet combed back and a Rolex Deep Sea watch. She could be headed to Club 55 in St. Tropez or poolside at the Setai.

EB: What do you think Miami girls will most love about this line?

T: The color, the sparkle, the jet-set chic.
