M.A.C.’s Heavenly Creature Collection is Outer Limits

The team at M.A.C. is kind of brilliant. To introduce the latest collection, Heavenly Creature, they invited local astrologist Terry Nazon to come to the penthouse at the Delano and share a bit about what’s going on in the heavens. Turns out the Mayans weren’t completely off their rockers when they predicted the end of the world in 2012.

According to Nazon, there are a lot of changes taking place up there. Planets are aligning for the first time since the French Revolution. And a triple alignment is basically throwing astrology as we know it for a loop. The end of the world? Not quite, but to a group of sky watchers who got all their info from two sticks used to measure the distance between the stars, the outcome did seem overwhelming.
Using that Mayan inspiration, M.A.C. put together it’s latest collection, also inspired by the heavens and equally mind-blowing. Here’s a look at the round-up, one of 50-plus collections the brand puts out each season. Yup, 50-plus. That’s a lot of makeup.

Turns out, even the universe, like M.A.C., has rhyme and reason to its color scheme. The red, symbolizing Mars (the male planet), and yellow swirl, mimicking Saturn (the female planet) unite in the first shadow for attraction. Not a bad shade to wear on a hot date. Ready to take that relationship to the next step? Slip on a little Sky to give off a subdued aura, like the moon. Have a job interview? Earthly’s brown tones relay balance.

This scrub actually goes on black, like the dark night sky.

{Lipstick in Fire Sign and CremeSheen Glass in Galaxy Rose.}

Like fiery Mars, keep things ignited with a reddish-inspired kiss. I’m personally most excited about these two shades. Reds are my go-to and these summer offerings are out of this world. My attraction falls in line with my star sign, Aries, which, like the name of this lipstick shade, is a fire sign. Nazon was able to tell me a bit about my future and she was right on—more than once. Now if you will excuse me, I’ll put some Fire Sign on my pucker and see what else the universe has in store for me.
