Upside Down

{The (Un) Mat: c/o Lululemon. Bikini top: Zingara. Pants: c/o Buddha Pants. Super serious face by me.}

I’ve been hitting yoga hard lately, which feels incredible. It’s nice to be back in a routine, especially with my new LuluLemon mat—for yoga on the go (it’s super lightweight for impromptu yoga). My favorite part of yoga (other than escaping from the real world for 60-90 minutes) are inversions. It’s challenging, which makes it fun, but it’s also a great way to get the blood flowing in the other direction. My mantra for inversions is the Jack Johnson song “Upside Down,” which already holds a special place in my heart. Curious George was the first movie Milly ever watched and it’s the title track of the film. Needless to say, it was the theme song to her—and my—life that year.

So here ‘ya go. When life gets a little hairy, get upside down. You’ll see things differently and you’ll actually be giving your body a whole new flow. Sometimes that all you need. PS Symphony of Yoga is January 25. See you there. PSS these pants roll up into a bag. How cool is that?

Who’s to say
What’s impossible
Well they forgot
This world keeps spinning
And with each new day
I can feel a change in everything
And as the surface breaks reflections fade
But in some ways they remain the same
And as my mind begins to spread its wings
There’s no stopping curiosity

I want to turn the whole thing upside down
I’ll find the things they say just can’t be found
I’ll share this love I find with everyone
We’ll sing and dance to Mother Nature’s songs
I don’t want this feeling to go away

Who’s to say
I can’t do everything
Well I can try
And as I roll along I begin to find
Things aren’t always just what they seem

I want to turn the whole thing upside down
I’ll find the things they say just can’t be found
I’ll share this love I find with everyone
We’ll sing and dance to Mother Nature’s songs
This world keeps spinning and there’s no time to waste
Well it all keeps spinning spinning round and round and

Upside down
Who’s to say what’s impossible and can’t be found
I don’t want this feeling to go away

Please don’t go away
Please don’t go away
Please don’t go away
Is this how it’s supposed to be
Is this how it’s supposed to be
