I’ve never been a lady who lunched (I have like five jobs and a kid, two unruly dogs and no extra time—ever). Come lunch, I’m usually still in my morning workout gear having a type-a-thon on my laptop trying to get as much in before it’s time for pick-up. But on rare occasions, I escape my daily grind and pretend I live a life of leisure. For example, this past Saturday I brunched at Cecconi’s at Soho House (one of my favorite places on earth, btw) with French Connection and the Miami blogger crew. And what does one wear to said life of leisure? I decided to channel Audrey Hepburn with neon edge by pairing pearls, a pouffy skirt and a floral neon blouse with a matching neon lip. Sipping my prosecco, I listened to the birds chirp, took in the conversation and lived the high life. Eventually the rain set in (it is summer in Miami, after all) and the beautiful brunch came to a halt, but it was fun while it lasted. And then I returned to my regularly scheduled life with an overabundance of e-mails, Yorkshire Terrorists and kiddo. Next go-round, I want to be part of the brunch bunch. Until then I’ll nosh on Kind Bars between deadlines.

P.S. French Connection is having a mega sale right now. It’s 50 percent off the sale price. I scored two amazing high-waist shorts that I’ll be sporting all over Swim Week. This summer sale stuff is almost as good as brunch. Almost.

The brunch bunch. My, how the sisterhood has grown over the years. Cheers!
