This is my kiddo, last Christmas, discovering she is now the owner of a very large pink Disney princess castle that has since overrun the playroom. Enormous pink plastic toy, check. I’ve learned to deal with a princess castle that’s nearly the size of my bed taking up some major square footage in my house. Why? Seeing her little face that morning is what Christmas is all about. And if you want to bring that kind of joy to a kid’s life, here are a few places you can donate toys to kids in need in the Miami area and beyond.
Drop off at: Ricochet, 3250 Buena Vista Blvd., Midtown, on Saturday, December 15 at 9 p.m. (where a toy-drive party will be in session). Bring an unwrapped gift for a child 13 or under to benefit Miami Children’s Hospital.
Drop off at: Select Metrorail stations. (Find locations here.) On December 14, bring an unwrapped toy valued at $5 or more to one of these metrorail stations to benefit the children of Miami-Dade.
Drop off at: Caravan of Joy lists numerous locations throughout Miami here. Bring an unwrapped toy by Friday, December 14 to benefit multiple groups that provide care to children in Miami-Dade.
Drop off at: For those who prefer online giving, log on to toysfortots.org and send a little virtual joy.
