Polished: The DIY Way

{Deborah Lippman in Red Silk Boxers and Harem Silks From Bombay, available at Neiman Marcus.}

Fact: I rarely paint my own nails. Now before you label me a diva, hear this. My left hand is not my right hand. And painting anything with my left hand is like a fish riding a bicycle. But, every now and then I get the itch to try out a nail trend. Case in point: The latest collection from Deborah Lippman. These colors are amazing. So much so, I couldn’t wait to play with them. So that’s exactly, what I did. And I got kid in on the action, too.

Milly won’t ever let me paint her fingernails, only her toenails, so we did Red Silk Boxers for her toes. We both love the matte finish so much we decided to skip the topcoat so it wouldn’t get glossy.

For my own toes, I opted for Harem Silks From Bombay. I love a dark hue on my feet. To me, it says, “Hello, fall.”

Next, to get in on nail trends, I decided to do my favorite and go with an accent nail for my hands. I paired the Red Silk Boxes on my fourth nail with the rest of my nails, which I outfitted in Harem Silks From Bombay. Now kiddo and I have a mix and match situation going on.

And there you have it, super fun nails for the week.
