Behold: Summertime de Chanel.
A good bronzer is hard to find, mostly because I detest shimmer in anything that goes over my pores. So, when I glimpsed Soleil Tan de Chanel (Luminous Bronzing Powder) in Sable Beige from Chanel’s summer offerings, I got giddy. Yes, over makeup, I know. This bronzer just makes you look tan, not sparkly. The gradation of colors, in my opinion, makes for a more natural hint of color, too. And the gold, well, that’s just like Chanel, thinking ahead to give you a bit of unexpected highlight.
While pretty in pink was the anthem for spring makeup, the summer, however, belongs to bronze, nudes and corals. If you’re a lipstick kind of girl, give the Rouge Coco Shine sheer lipstick in En Vogue a go. But glossy girls will prefer their kiss of color from the Glossimer in Calypso. I’m psyched about the Rouge Coco Shine in Empreinte, a nudy broze. This way I can play up eyes and keep lips pared down, a fave combo of mine. I’ll be sure to swipe a little of the Sirocco Glossimer over the top to add an extra hint of shine.
The Le Crayone Khol in Peche Cuivre is a great way to play up bold lips and neutral eyes (also another fave), as the eye shade is uber neutral.
Less is definitely more, trend-wise, this summer. And with the upcoming heat we’re going to face, that’s a trend we can all get behind. Happy makeup Monday.
