That’s a Wrap: Looking Back at MKT’s Balance & Connect Edition

This past Saturday, I got the amazing opportunity to stand in front of an audience and share what wellness means to me, thanks to MKT by bazbazaz‘s Balance & Connect edition, the open-air market in Wynwood that focuses on sustainability. And it was awesome. For me, wellness is a harmony of eating well, exercise and reducing stress. While all of that sounds picture perfect, actually creating a balance and connecting with it, well, that’s where things get tricky. It’s not easy at all to find balance. It’s work. And that’s why we brought in experts to help us find  way to connect with the good stuff, the stuff that makes you feel good. Rodrigo Martinez from Jucy Lu stepped up to the mic to talk about how juicy can get your mind, body and spirit in a better place. We based GMOs, we praised organic, we talked about how much energy the…Read More

Escape to Nobu Eden Roc Hotel

Take a full moon, a relaxing yoga class, a dinner under the stars, a beautiful hotel room and a spa day the following morning and—damn, I love my job. In making this one of the best January’s ever, Nobu Eden Roc Hotel invited me to be a part of its Full Moon Wellness Series. The workout/sleepover was amazing and exactly what I needed after the busy start of the new year. The hotel’s monthly series co-insides with the moon cycle, which, for us tree-hugging vegetarians, is the be-all, end-all. Yoga under a full moon with the sounds of ocean waves crashing in the background is, well, I’m not going to lie, pretty damn spectacular. Afterward, we made our way upstairs to the pool deck for a preview of Malibu Farm, which is slated to open next month. Think organic, fresh and guilt-free since it’s all good for you. After wine,…Read More

Making an Entrance

{Wearing: Dress: c/o T.J. Maxx. Shoes: Nordstrom Rack. Hair: c/o Glamsquad. Earrings: c/o Tarbay.} “The entrance strategy is actually more important than the exist strategy.” Today is September 1, which means a whole new month is knocking on the door and it’s time to let it in. National Yoga Month, the end of summer, the beginning of fall and fall fashion—and the nearing of pumpkin season (hell yes I am that girl). That’s a lot for a 30-day span. But don’t worry, we can fit it all in. Since it is National Yoga Month, and I have yogi tendencies, I’m treating the month like I’d treat the beginning of a yoga class—by setting an intention. I encourage you to do the same. So what’s mine? To revamp. Just as fall ushers in an entirely new season of fashion, a time to throw out the worn and bring in a fresh…Read More

My PCH Seekender Adventure: The Color Purple

{Wearing: Celeste Top Rock: c/o SolKissed and Cusco Barely Bottom Rock: c/o SolKissed. Necklace: c/o Express. Photographed by Jorge Camaraza.}  Walking away from what we’d seen on our first stop in Big Sur was hard. I never wanted to let go of it, this most beautiful edge of the world I’d ever seen. But there was more to see. I zipped up my jacket. There was a briskness to the air that was intriguing. It fit with the sharp edges of the cliffs, their deep waters below. The beaches seemed so far beneath, so truly different than back home, where life and land were flat and the beach lay just before you. I wasn’t sure I would actually step foot on the beach, I felt so far away from it. I wasn’t sure I wanted to, it was cold. So cold. And then I remembered before leaving Monterey, our Hampton By Hilton concierge…Read More
