Extreme Beauty: How to Get Rid of Cellulite

{Wearing: Bikini top: Ark Swimwear. Bikini bottom: Forever 21. Bag: European Wax Center. Photographed by Milly Jane Harris} {Danielle at Smith & Popov doing what she does. And me letting her.} I have cellulite. There, I said it. I’ve had it. I don’t know where it came from. I mean, I never asked it to hang out. But it did. And for years now, when I talk about it, people react the same way each time: “You’re too skinny to have cellulite.” Well, guess what? I’m not. In fact 90 percent of women and 10 percent of men have cellulite. And it affects everyone from the skinny chick to the full-figured girl. It starts to appear around ages 25-35. No amount of squats and leg lifts can send it back to where it came from. Once it shows up, it’s here to stay. Or so we thought. In the wake of my…Read More

All Adidas Everything and the History of the Wynwood Boombox

{Wearing: Head-to-toe Adidas from ASOS. Photographed By Milly Jane Harris} If you’re going to wear head-to-toe Adidas, including an Adidas track suit, which I scored on super mega sale from ASOS, and take a pic of it, it’s probably best to head to that oversized boom-box over in Wynwood. Some things are just meant to be. Eons ago, someone had the where with all to turn a giant slab in Wynwood into a boombox. That someone’s name was Sonni, which he originally did in 2010. Originally, it was supposed to be a camera because of it’s shape, but in a way cooler twist of fate, it became a musical homage to the city. And then someone painted over it, as these things go. Another version of a boombox made it’s way to the same slab  in Basel 2013, courtesy of Chor Boogie and Trek 6. It’s a tribute to Miami’s history with…Read More

Extreme Beauty: Laser Facials vs Pigmentation

{Wearing: Top and shorts set: Market Miami. Shoes: Aldo. Hat: Voyage in Style. Glow By Vivid Face. Photographed By Jorge Camaraza} See that glow right there? That did not happen on its own. And it’s not Photoshopped either. It’s a year and change of keeping on top of my skin’s foibles with laser treatments at Vivid Face. While I’ve spent a lot of time trying to get my adult acne under control, I’ve finally reached a place where I think my hormones are going to chill out for a bit. (Please don’t let me curse myself by writing that.) But now I’ve realized, thanks to years of taking birth control and then not, I have pigmentation. Can a girl get a break? Actually, yes she can. By doing laser treatments I can get rid of acne scars and uneven complexion and reduce the appearance of pigmentation. Like I’ve said again and again,…Read More

Stepping Out in Andre Assous

{Wearing: Jacket: c/o Tricia Fix. Shoes: c/o Andre Assous Tamsin Nappa Sandal, available at Macy’s. Photographed By Milly Jane Harris.}   Oh Miami, and our unfulfilled fashion cravings. We long to wear boots, but your sweltering temps and humidity, you make it nearly impossible. Then, Andrea Assous comes along and creates sandals with a boot-ish feel and all is right in the Southernmost State. I’m loving these Tamsin Nappa Sandals. They go with jeans. They go with dresses. They go with shorts. You see where I’m going with this. They go with everything. And you can still show off whatever nail polish on your toes that trending. Finally, someone who gets a Florida girl’s footwear needs. Thanks, Andrea Assous. This post is sponsored by TaoTronics. The thoughts and opinions, well, those are mine. All mine.

Extreme Beauty: Lip Injections

{Wearing: Jeans: c/o Lilac and Lilies Boutique. Top: c/o Lilac and Lilies Boutique. Necklace: c/o Yvonne Rose. Shoes: c/o T.J. Maxx. Bag: Vintage. Hair: c/o Contesta Rock Hair. Makeup: c/o Hippy Glow. Photographed by KarGar Ohh Snap at Espanola Way.} I recently got my lips done on a routine Botox visit at Smith & Popov. We filled my pucker up with Restylane and Volbella to give them shape and a little plump-ness. It wasn’t my first time at this lip rodeo, but a year had passed since the last time and I wanted them to look slightly more full, so I dove right in. Danielle just happens to be the lip queen. She goes for a natural look. And she’s very very good at it. These pics were taken about a week after I had my lips done. I’m very happy with the results. Unlike last time, I knew what to expect this time around,…Read More

It’s August, But It’s Still Spa Month. Wait, What?

{All the glory of spa month c/o Lapis, the Spa at Fontainebleau} I’ll never truly understand why Miami Spa Month is called spa month when, in fact, it’s two months long, but I’m certainly not going to let that stop me from enjoying it until it actually ends—which isn’t happening for another 31 days. That’s 31 days to get to Lapis, the Spa at Fontainebleau and just let go. I have a little secret to divulge: Lapis is my favorite spa. The water journeys, the relaxation lounge, the treats—it all combines to turn whatever kind of day you were having before into the best day ever. And then they usher you off to your massage. Mine was the 50-minute Aromatic Swedish Massage for $109. As luck would have it, I had just pulled something in the wrong direction in my back while working out earlier that morning, so a session with…Read More

It’s Miami Spa Month: First Stop: Aqualina Spa by ESPA

{Miami Spa Month, courtesy of Aqualina Spa by ESPA.} Ah, robe life. Come summer in Miami, it’s a necessity. Like air drinking water and spending all your time in the a.c. Living in a city that, during the entire summer, fluctuates between blowing hair dryer hot humidity at you and dumping endless showers on you, you need something to help see you through. I mean aside from frose. That’s where Miami Spa Month comes in. From July 1-August 31, the best spas around town offer up deals that offer a refuge from Miami’s summer elements. I started off Miami spa month off at Aqualina Spa by ESPA. I’m a full-on fiend for ESPA products. I swear by their oils, using them nearly nightly.  A Swedish massage with only ESPA products, well, that’s next level. And that’s exactly what happened at Aqualina. I started off with a pot of tea. Then,…Read More

Colorado Here We Come: Back To Where It All Began

{Wearing: Bodysuit & Skirt: c/o Ramona LaRue. Necklace: c/o T.J. Maxx. Photographed by Jorge Camaraza} Here’s the amazing, yet peculiar thing about Colorado in spring: There are snow-covered mountains, ripe for swooshing down on boards and skis, but drive just a bit further—up the road even—and the scenery changes instantly. Green fields, blooming florals, warmer temps—it’s almost as if you’ve left one season and landed in the next. We noticed immediately as we crossed from our Hampton By Hilton in Silverthorne into Glenwood Springs. The same Glenwood Springs we’d been to on our first Hampton By Hilton Seekender outing. Back then it was just the two of us on the Indian motorcycle, the sky so blue it was as though a vat of thick robin egg paint had fallen over and spilled sky-wide. The charred orange rocks of the canyon reaching up to the sky, surrounding us, encasing us. Today, we…Read More

It’s called BlueMercury, and if you aren’t familiar with it just yet, get so sooner than later. When the summer starts to dehydrate my skin, I put the moisture back in with Glamglow Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment, which I wear as a mask during the day once a week. and I wear at night when I’m feeling extremely dried out. Never ever ever go to bed to bed without eye cream. More specifically, M-61 PowerGlow Eye Cream. It wards off the evils of aging and makes you look and feel daisy fresh come morning time.
