It’s called BlueMercury, and if you aren’t familiar with it just yet, get so sooner than later. When the summer starts to dehydrate my skin, I put the moisture back in with Glamglow Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment, which I wear as a mask during the day once a week. and I wear at night when I’m feeling extremely dried out. Never ever ever go to bed to bed without eye cream. More specifically, M-61 PowerGlow Eye Cream. It wards off the evils of aging and makes you look and feel daisy fresh come morning time. That’s a Wrap: Looking Back at MKT’s Balance & Connect Edition

This past Saturday, I got the amazing opportunity to stand in front of an audience and share what wellness means to me, thanks to MKT by bazbazaz‘s Balance & Connect edition, the open-air market in Wynwood that focuses on sustainability. And it was awesome. For me, wellness is a harmony of eating well, exercise and reducing stress. While all of that sounds picture perfect, actually creating a balance and connecting with it, well, that’s where things get tricky. It’s not easy at all to find balance. It’s work. And that’s why we brought in experts to help us find  way to connect with the good stuff, the stuff that makes you feel good. Rodrigo Martinez from Jucy Lu stepped up to the mic to talk about how juicy can get your mind, body and spirit in a better place. We based GMOs, we praised organic, we talked about how much energy the…Read More

Your Saturday Plans, Miami, at MKT

Attention, Miami. I have your Saturday plans. We’re going to go to MKT by bazbaz in Wynwood. Why? Because it’s good for you. Literally.  The open-air market is based around socially conscious products and eats. You can expect 40-plus local vendors, and we all know how I feel about shopping local. There’s more. Like live music. And get this, this particular edition is all about organic beauty. Because it’s not just about what you put in your body, it’s also about what you put on it. Dubbed The Naked Truth edition, my blogger sister The Fashion Poet will be there sharing clean makeup tips, too, at 3 p.m. There will also be five-minute hair and makeup tutorials by Beautycounter to help you beautify at 3;30. And if you still haven’t gotten something for mom (no judgements) this is literally your last chance. But what you will give her will be…Read More

The Gift of Smooth

{eos hand lotion and lip balm spring packs.}               {Step one: Smell this!} Here’s an obvious gift that might not seem terribly obvious: Moisture. After a recent trip up north outside of Miami’s moisturizing humidity, the kiddo and I got very dried out. Poor kiddo’s lips were so chapped, it hurt just to look at them. And our hands—sandpaper city. Kismet brought these eos spring packs to our door just when we needed them most. Kiddo is obsessed with eos and all the fun things you can do with them, so we decided to take it to the next level and add a little DIY magic to our spring sets. After an amazing crafter-noon, it dawned on us this was an excellent gift idea. And since the next gift we’ll need to give is Mother’s Day, let’s just say if we call you mom or grandma, chances…Read More

When the Vacation Ends …

Post vacation Mondays are pretty much like getting gum on not just the bottom, but the side of your shoe. They suck. Epically. I know, because I’m living one. After arriving home at midnight from spring break bliss (more to come on that soon), I woke up to deadlines, unpacked suitcases, a request from the realtor to see the house, mountains of laundry, a dead houseplant (sorry, Mother Nature) and nothing to eat or drink in the fridge. Calgon, er, Aveda, take me away. I have a stash of Aveda Chakra Balancing Body Mists for such occassions. My gift set has all seven of the offerings. You, however, can purchase individuals here. There are ones to make you feel balanced, nourished, to give you intention, give you harmony, help you be expressive, give insightful and have wisdom. I could basically deal with all of those today. You simply spray, set your…Read More

Spring, Er, Summer is Coming

{Wearing: Top and Leggings: Liquido. Photographed by Adorned Photography.} It’s almost spring in Miami, which means its practically summer, which means plenty of beach days ahead. And Miami and the beach go together like, well, Miami and the beach. That’s why I’m doing something I’ve been wanting to do for eons now: Laser hair removal. About a month ago I started working with BodyDetails to make my underarms super smooth just in time for summer. The idea of never having to shave again sounds amazing. Truly amazing. My skin is super sensitive, so shaving plus heat equals not always great. This is an excellent way to combat that. I worked with the brand to create this video so you can see what it’s all about. Does it hurt? How long does it take? Will it ever grow back? All the deets are in this BodyDetails video below. Check it out.

Extreme Beauty: That Time I Got Frozen at Cryo Miami

That’s me, the last time I was really, really cold. I was sleeveless in a dress in Colorado in February. The things I do for photos. This is a cryogenic chamber at Cryo Miami. And this is me, sans sleeveless dress, being the coldest I’ve ever been in probably my entire life. Why? Because it was -135 degrees. Why in the world would I do that? Am I crazy, you ask? Just watch the video below. So why in the name of God would I subject such extreme temperatures? Let me remind you, this is Extreme Beauty, where I try out all kinds of stuff in the name of beauty. Cryo Miami opened a bit back. I was invited to test it out. The benefits of cryogenic chambers range from reducing inflammation and stimulating the brain to stimulating your metabolism. Why would you pass up any of those things? So…Read More

Girl Stuff

{Wearing: Silk Butterfly Voyage Scarf: Swedroe by Ariel.} Before we get to the topic of hair—which is what this post is all about—I want to take a minute to say some things in regards to International Women’s Day (because hair and being a girl—it all works together). As women, it’s important we support other women in all walks of life. One way to do that is to support women entrepreneurs. One of those, who I’m extremely proud to wear her scarf (which you can see a full view of in the pic below), is 13-year-old fashion designer Ariel Swedroe Weinberg. This beautiful silk butterfly scarf is part of her very own line called Swedroe by Ariel. You can check out the rest of her line here. She actually got her start at the same place where my kiddo takes her sewing classes, DesignLab Miami, at the same age as kiddo: 8 years…Read More

Hoodwinked

{Wearing: My Home Fashion Boutique Knit Hoodie. Hair: c/o Glamsquad with Vanessa Placeres. Makeup: c/o Glamsquad with  Celina Beach Artistry. Photographed by Danielle Margherite Photography LLC} Here we are, the first day of March (my favorite month for the sole reason that it’s the one in which I, my kiddo and my man were all born—all within a week of each other, nonetheless). We’re 19 days away from spring. Here I am in a hooded sweater with a bikini bottom, because that’s just about the only way we Miamians are able to wear sweaters. Plus, this knit guy was made for the beach—and a sundown bonfire. A Miami girl can dream, right? That whole thing about winter is coming … yeah, when? It didn’t happen. And I’m not complaining one bit about it. It was cool enough to wear over-the-knee boots for a few days. I donned a jacket after dark maybe once, twice max. And I’ve…Read More
