My PCH Seekender Adventure: I Left My Heart in San Francisco

As we boarded the plane, him leading the way down the aisle, I thought to myself: This is going to be an amazing trip, but there’s no way it will compare to Colorado—my last Hampton by Hilton Seekender adventure. Sure, we would be back on the bike, the wind in our hair, careening through landscapes foreign to our traditional Miami scenery. But Colorado was so magical. The mountains. The sky. The freedom. The rush. The beauty of it all. Zooming across the Pacific Coast Highway on an Indian motorcycle with my best friend and partner in crime with me every step of the way was definitely going to be amazing, but how could it possibly touch the majestic journey across Colorado that still lives and breathes inside of me? This will still be nice, I thought. Now, looking back, I can see just how truly foolish a thought that was….Read More

Let’s Yoge

I can only hope someday Milly will love yoga the same way I do. I can only hope that she, too, will find in yoga a place where she feels confident, beautiful, free. The only way to give that hope legs is to take her to yoga every chance she lets me. That’s what we’ll be doing together this Wednesday night, May 11, when we host Leggings Lounge at Anatomy’s rooftop. This time around the yoga class takes a mommy and me turn, so bring your little one if you have one, bring your mom or just bring yourself. We’ll get our om on from 6 to 8 p.m. with Nathalie Perdomo leading the way. Be sure to RSVP to See you there. And namaste.

Dear Mama

{Heart and Mother of Pearl Necklace: c/o T.J. Maxx.} Dear Mama, Milly and I wanted to get you something special for Mother’s Day, so we headed over to T.J. Maxx and peered into the jewelry counter. We knew it should be something that showed how we feel about you and that’s exactly the emotion that sprung up when we found this mother-of-pearl (cuz you’re the mama) and heart (cuz we love ya) necklace. You see, you are the pearl in this big old oyster world for both of us. Most of my life, you have been my only parent. And as a single mom myself, I know how hard that can be. There are days when you drag in from work and all you want to do it hide under the covers, toss a pillow over your head, turn the lights off and call it a day. But, when you’re…Read More

Getting SolKissed

{Wearing: Celeste Top Rock: c/o SolKissed. Cusco Barely Bottom Rock: c/o SolKissed. Photographed by Erika Thomas of Blah Blah Blonde.} Living in Miami, bikinis are the little black dresses of our wardrobe. We have far than we need and we wear them constantly. But every now and then you stumble upon one that fits just right, adds a little something different to the mix, captures your personality, makes you want to be in the sun and well, it just always winds up at the top of the pile. Enter my new bikini from SolKissed. What I most love about it is how it’s as much fashion as it is swim. So, I caught up with the designer behind the brand, Alejandra Boggiano, and found out what went into making such a great Miami staple. What I learned along the way is that cut is everything and even swimwear can give back….Read More

Talking Fashion, Fitness and Miami With Morgan’s Hotel Group Back of House

{Wearing: Leggings and top c/o LuluLemon Lincoln Road. Photographed by Erika Thomas at Mondrian South Beach.} It’s always cool when someone notices the efforts you put out there. I’m extremely excited to be featured on Morgan’s Hotel Group’s Back of House blog, talking fashion, fitness and what I love about Miami. I spent a lovely afternoon with my buddy and fellow blogger Erika Thomas, who runs the blog, at Mondrian South Beach, where I’ve been known to strike a yoga pose or two at their free Sunday morning yoga sesh. Erika snapped these awesome pics of me in my new LuluLemon digs and I told her not only how I wound up in Miami, but what’s kept me here for the past 16 years. Geez, 16 years. I think that officially makes me a native. Check it out here.

Walking the Line

{Wearing: Ranzel Booties: c/o Alepel.} I like shoes. Sometimes, I like shoes more than people—especially people associated with the traffic citation portion of my local government branch. But I digress. What I also like are local designers. So when I discovered Alepel, a shoe line with roots planted in architecture, is based right here in Miami, well, I walked right into the opportunity to interview the designer for Racked Miami. Sadly, Racked Miami was stolen away from us by a shady thief in the night who figuratively lured her into his Bentley and drove off into the sunset with her, promising her the world in exchange for never having to work again and she bought it. (Seriously, Miami, can you not just keep one good fashion site going, what’s wrong with you?!?!?!). Nevertheless, my story still remains. Check out my interview here with Adriana Epelboim-Levy, the creator of the brand, to get the…Read More

Creating the Total Look With Sassoon TORQUE

{Wearing: Lace Marta Set: Touch Dolls. Wedges: Steve Madden. Bracelet: Touch Dolls. Herba Earrings: c/o Tarbay. Hair: c/o Sassoon. Photographed by Jorge Camaraza} People joke that living in Miami we live in the land of eternal summer, and for the most part, we do. But, there’s still that transition to spring, be it ever so slight, where the itch to wear white replaces the urge to wear over-the-kneee boots—even though it takes us forever to get to that point weather-wise. That little skip to spring is upon us now, the time when the weather in Miami is so good, you remember why you sit in traffic, wait in line, put up with tourists during all the “cold” months. And with it comes a deep-rooted need to revamp everything. Not just your clothes, not just your shoes, but your hair, your makeup, your nail polish. It’s like shedding the winter you—even though that only lasted…Read More

Motivation Monday

{Wearing: Pants: c/o T.J. Maxx and Marshalls. Photographed by Jorge Camaraza.} Let’s stop for a minute and take a breath. Whew. It’s been a whirlwind—a blast—but a complete whirlwind. A trio of birthdays celebrated until the absolute last day of the month, friends in town, a new job (Florida contributor for The Knot), weekends with kiddos, a bucket list vacay, a road trip, fulfilling ambassadorships for the blog—and that’s all in conjunction with the regular daily grind. Then, smack, we’re off and running with Monday. And not just any Monday, I feel like this is my first weekend back in the mix and turns out it’s been a a mother of a Monday. It always is when you’re trying to re-integrate into life, isn’t it? After a blissful weekend of uber fun (The Fair, an airboat ride in the Everglades), I was forced to wake the bobcat I call my…Read More

Why Isn’t There a Flamingo Emoji?

{Wearing: Jeans: Blank NYC from Blush. Vest: DIY Vintage. Necklace: Vintage. Makeup: M.A.C. Flamingo Park by Joshua Manuel Ribadeo. Hair: Blo Midtown Miami. Photographed By Jorge Camaraza.} First, why in the hell isn’t there a flamingo emoji? Seriously, why? For the love of God, I live in Florida and could use a rendering of that little pink bird like I use anti-humidity hairspray on this peninsula. But no. Instead we get Easter Island stone guy, which for the record I don’t plan on using like ever. In fact, as of today I just refuse to use it in protest. In lieu of the beloved single-foot-standing bird, M.A.C. gifts us Flamingo Park, a whole collection dedicated to pink. Every flipping shade of pink your little girl heart could dream up. And then some. After receiving the collection, which I’m convinced is named after the South Beach park just down the…Read More
