The Contour That Doesn’t Wash Off

{What God didn’t give me for cheekbones, Smith & Popov did with Voulma.} Contour. That’s fun, until you live in Miami and the humidity starts to cause your to sweat in a way that makes your contour slide down your face. And since fall is never actually coming to Miami, I’ve found a better way to make my contour last—with Voluma. I visited Danielle at Smith & Popov. and she injected the filler into my cheeks to give me fantastic cheek contour. It took effect immediately. And I love the look. It lasts for around a year, so there’s no need to rush back after just a few months. Contour that doesn’t wash off is a must in Miami. For so many reasons. If you’re looking for something that goes the distance and makes you feel like you are putting your best face forward, then I suggest reaching out to Smith & Popov for…Read More

Lashing Out with Avon’s Anew Clinical Unlimited Lashes Lash and Brow Activating System

When I was in high school and college I went through so much mascara trying to make my lashes extend to their fullest. I spent a lot of time looking like I had tarantula legs attached to my eyes. Those were the days before lash serums. So when Avon asked me to give their Anew Clinical Unlimited Lashes Lash & Brow Activating Serum a try, I said, “Sign me up.” I had a month and a half to test it out and see to what great lengths I could enhance my lashes. And it went a little something like this: These are my lashes before trying to product in mid-July. Visible, but not visible enough. Each night, after I washed my face, applied my creams and slathered on lip moisturizer, I applied the serum, starting at the lash line and stroking the wand across my lashes like an eyeliner, working…Read More

Building a College Wardrobe at Sawgrass Mills

{The big kid is off to college …} So you’ve worn a uniform to school every day of the week for the past 18 years to school. And now you’re off to college. What in the world are you going to wear? There’s a fashion-related problem if I’ve ever seen one. And also the question of the moment at our house now that Julien is flying the coop and heading off to college. Yes, we have a kid headed to college. And no, that does not make us old. (I keep telling myself.) After 18 years in private school, donning his polo shirts and khaki shorts, he was a little light in the clothing department. Like five pairs of random jeans, no shirts and a pair of shoes too small light. It also doesn’t help that his feet seem to grow another shoe size every time the calendar changes…Read More

Speedo Makes Teeny Bikinis Now

{c/o Speedo Helena Top and Piper Bottom. Photographed By Jorge Camaraza} Here’s something I’m guessing you probably didn’t know: Speedo makes teeny sexy bikinis now. The company, which celebrates its 90th year in production, has thrown a curveball into its image. And it’s amazing. I met up with the brand during Swim Week and got the whole scoop. And speaking of scoops, even the booty is scooped out of the bottoms. I actually couldn’t believe what I was seeing. The brand known for staying in place as divers twisted and turned off the high dive into the pool below, just brought sexy back. And then I put it to the test. I donned the navy bikini with its strategically placed holes to the pool at the Standard. I got compliments left and right. And the minute I said it was Speedo, I got the same reaction across the board: “What?…Read More

Don’t Forget to Pack Your Fitness Routine

{Look: c/o Hello Molly Sprinter Leggings and Matching Sports Bra in Dark Blue. Photographed by Milly Jane Harris} So much has happened in the past month that I’m thrilled to share with you guys. If you follow my Insta stories, you’ve probably noticed I’m spending a lot of time at The Pilates Place Studios. And here’s the reason why: I’m officially a certified Pilates mat teacher. If you thought I wore a lot of fitness gear before, prepare for a whole new dimension of me exploring new brands just for you. Like this Odd Molly matching set I’m sporting above. I love a pattern. It makes looking down at your legs while they are shaking and quaking that much better. A happy place in a moment of fatigue, if you will. And since I have my certification now, I’m ready to teach group and private mat Pilates classes in Miami, so…Read More

I plan to sport it during Swim Week, pack it along for my upcoming trip to Bimini and then give it a day out for brunch. I scored the look at Saved By the Dress, which, for those of you who know how important I feel it is to support local, is an online shop with its roots here in South Florida. It’s Miami Spa Month

{Wearing: Indah Vera bikini at Lapis at Fontainebleau’s Miami Spa Month Weekday Escape The Fabulous Foursome.} This is me, living my best life. Don’t hate. You can live your best life, too, now that Miami Spa Month is back. In the vein of my Extreme Beauty posts, I’ve done the “grueling” research for you to let you know which treatments to splurge on. But seriously, I visited the spa after moving and starting my first week of Pilates training, all while managing my regular workload. I was exhausted, bruised, sore and mentally strained. Like many of you when you reach overload, I needed a break. And this was a much-needed break I feel like I earned. If you book only one treatment for Miami Spa Month this year, make sure it’s the Fabulous Foursome. It’s at Lapis at Fontainebleau and it’s part of its Weekday Escape. Those happen Monday through…Read More

My Triumphant Return to Yoga at Ahana Yoga

{Wearing: DYI Take Control Leggings and DYI Elevate Bra c/o Glimpse Miami at Ahana Yoga} My yoga practice has, for lack of more socially acceptable terms, gone to shit. I do a little here and there, but the die-hard dedication has fallen right off a cliff. And I know exactly why: Yoga is the one place I cannot hide from myself. It’s the one place I have to face all the things in my life head on. I have always said yoga is my church. And there’s no hiding the ugly from God once I’m there in that confessional. Unless, I don’t go. That way, I don’t let myself fall into that sacred space where I’m raw. And that’s what I’ve been doing for a very long time now. There are a lot of reasons why. But I won’t get into them. Don’t get me wrong. I love yoga. I identify…Read More

Head to Camp, Camp Gorgeous at Neiman Marcus Coral Gables

{Wearing: Hommage from Los Angeles pants (similar to these). Forever 21 crop top. Steve Madden heels. Photographed by Simply Lively.} As this whole blogger thing goes, I was lucky enough to head over to Neiman Marcus Coral Gables the other day with some of my favorite Miami fashion bloggers to get a preview of the Camp Gorgeous Summer Beauty Event. Between mimosas and breakfast, I got to play with the latest beauty offerings, including Givenchy’s Liquid Lipstick, which is as awesome as you want it to be. I tested all the fragrances at Givenchy Atelier. I found out you can refill the engrave-able lipstick cases from Guerlain. And I scored a summer tote full of beauty samples. You can, too, if you head to Camp Gorgeous, which is now through June 17  and score a purchase of $125 or more. Here’s a little of how the day went: Givenchy Liquid…Read More
