Been There, Done That: Brilliance New York Recap

Last night, Miami Beach got a makeover courtesy of Brilliance New York’s grand opening party on Lincoln Road. Here’s a little bit of what went down.

A little hair goes a long way. Playing with extensions before the soiree.

Meet the hostesses: Me, Maria Tettamanti and Kelly Saks. There’s enough princess hair here to send Rapunzel into a full-fledged frenzy.

Team Madewell. The girls from the neighboring store with the softest denim in the world stopped over to see what the fuss was all about. Hair and makeup, that’s what.

Extensions, curls, straight sexy hair. It was all up for grabs. That’s Lena, by the way, using the 3 in 1 Triple Barrel Clipless Curling Iron. It literally changes barrels. Hello, cool. In addition to doing hair, she did my makeup and let me tell you, her skills are stellar. Plus, she’s absolutely beautiful.

The beauty selection at Brilliance New York. The mineral makeup is perfection. The True Love lipstick and #76 gloss are my new must-haves. They were applied by Lena at 4 p.m. and lasted all the way to the end of the event at 10 p.m.. I’m telling you, she’s got skills.

Olee Fowler geting her makeup done.

Martha D rockin’ a new ‘do.

Me n my bestest buddy. How awesome is Maria’s hair, seriously?

What I wore: Tricia Fix jumpsuit. I realize I’ve worn her on my last 1,000 outings. What can I say, I’m obsessed.

Aldo clutch, Forever 21 ring and Estee Lauder polish in Fuchsia.

Vintage necklace circa 1970, plucked from Fly Boutique.

Jill Stuart shoes.

Brilliance New York Shadow and liner by the uber talented Lena. Sigh, if only I could do this myself. Oh well, at least I know where to turn the next time professional makeup is a must.
