Color Me and My Hair Happy

{Wearing: Swimsuit: Indah c/o Blush. Hair color: c/o Atma Beauty. Photographed by Milly Jane Harris} And here’s the post where I curse whichever relative did a swan dive into the gene pool with their early grey. While I don’t mind getting older, I do mind the effects it’s having on my hair color. Granted, I found my first grey way back when I was 14. And I recently discovered one in Milly’s hair. But these days, discovering them is a lot less. It’s more like hire a PR team to do damage control on their ever-progressing takeover. Actually, it’s more like head over to Atma Beauty to let Sheenon Olson hide them with the beauty of hair color. I recently went to the salon (as did Milly, who has bangs now), to update my look. And by update I meant hide any evidence that my 40th birthday is just around the…Read More

Rent My Dress

{Wearing: Solace London Oxana Maxi Gown c/o Lakzya. Photographed by Jorge Camaraza} Here’s the thing about being a woman: You are constantly on the search for a dress. To wear to a party. A wedding. A dinner. A date. And once you find that dress for said occasion, (and oh what a mission that can be) you put it on, show it off, take a pic in it, post it somewhere, hang it in your closet and never wear it again. Cue a repeat of the whole process for the next party, wedding, dinner, date that pops up. The next thing you know, you have a closet full of dresses you’ll never wear again (for at least three years anyway—you know, once people forget). It’s silly. It’s time-consuming. It’s space wasting. And it’s done. Which leads me to intro-ing you to Lakzya. As in a high-end rental co that’s here in Miami….Read More

My Day With Victoria’s Secret

{Wearing: Victoria’s Secret Hello Bombshell Denim Jacket. Alo Leggings. Andre Assous Espadrilles.}  A invitation to lunch at Casa Tua is one thing. A really good thing. A lunch invitation to Casa Tua with Victoria’s Secret, well that’s something else entirely. The brand came to town for the launch of its latest fragrance, Bombshell Seduction, and threw a stunning lunch at not just anywhere, but my favorite restaurant in all of Miami, Casa Tua. The table was overrun with fresh flowers. Personalized, engraved bottles of perfume served as a place cards. And, oh yeah, a Victoria’s Secret model of the tall, blonde, perfect variety dined with us. Her name was Romee Strijd. Perhaps you’ve heard of her? I kid, of course you have. Never before in my life I have felt so short. And so brunette. Variety is the spice of life, no? But the fun didn’t stop there. After lunch…Read More

A Reminder to Just Breathe

{Wearing: c/o Imbodhi Astra bodysuit. Necklace: c/o The Shift by Komusō Design. Photographed By Milly Jane Harris} Sometimes, when it feels like the weight of the world is on your shoulders and everything feels out of whack and you feel like ducking and running for cover, the most important thing to do is the thing you most often forget; to breathe. It sounds so simple and yet it’s not. Our body voluntarily does it for us for a reason. If left up to us, we’d be blue in the face—a lot. When I heard about The Shift by Komusō Design, a cylinder-shaped charm with holes that allows you to center your breath by simply breathing into it, I jumped at the chance to feature it. We all need a reminder to inhale the good and exhale the bad. And this is a beautiful, zen-filled way in which to do so. Plus,…Read More

THE FINDS: Valentine’s Day for Under $50

{Notecard Pack, White Orchid & Oud Candle, Rose Gold Heart Necklace, Message Board: c/o T.J. Maxx} I’m so excited to announce THE FINDS is back on the blog. And with Valentine’s Day but a few days away, what better time to find a variety of cute gift ideas for under $50? For this round, Milly and I stopped in at T.J. Maxx to see what would make a sweet gift. We found a packet of the cutest notecards with everything from butterflies to palm fronds. The white orchid and oud candle smelled so yummy we couldn’t pass it up. We’re both into message boards and we love how this one lights up. And would it really be VDay without a rose-gold heart necklace? The best part was we scoured all of this for $49. I know it sounds too good to be true, but check out the breakdown: This post…Read More

Hear This

{Wearing: Leggings: Liquido. TT-BH22 Active Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Headphones: c/o TaoTronics. Photographed by Milly Jane Harris.}   I have freakishly small ears. There, I said it. And yes, I can hear out of them just fine, thank you. But what I can’t do is wear earbuds. They don’t fit into my ears. And on the off chance I can get them to stay, they always end up hurting after about 30 minutes. So when TaoTronics asked me to review their Bluetooth headphones, I thought, this probably won’t go very well. And then this happened: They sent noise cancelling bluetooth over-the-ear headphones. Given my “little issue,” you’d probably think why wouldn’t I be wearing those all along? Because, they hurt, too. Yup, that’s possible. They squeeze my ears against my head and then it’s just more of the same drama. It’s OK to laugh. I know how ridiculous this whole thing sounds….Read More
