My PCH Seekender Adventure: The Color Purple

{Wearing: Celeste Top Rock: c/o SolKissed and Cusco Barely Bottom Rock: c/o SolKissed. Necklace: c/o Express. But there was more to see. I zipped up my jacket. There was a briskness to the air that was intriguing. It fit with the sharp edges of the cliffs, their deep waters below. The beaches seemed so far beneath, so truly different than back home, where life and land were flat and the beach lay just before you. I wasn’t sure I would actually step foot on the beach, I felt so far away from it. I wasn’t sure I wanted to, it was cold. So cold. And then I remembered before leaving Monterey, our Hampton By Hilton concierge…Read More

How the Exumas Changed Everything I Thought I Knew About Myself

Days 1 & 2: Meet the Exumas {Wearing: Bikini: c/o Montce Crochet Solo x Nu Micro Set. Round Sunnies: Forever 21. Photographed by Jorge Camaraza} I remember back when I was terrified to fly, which made travel basically impossible, leaving me spending summer after summer stuck in the monotony of Miami Beach. I remember how I longed to be a part of that set that just up and went, anywhere, everywhere, disappearing to exotic places and returning with tans that made me wonder if they had bathed in bronzer. I cannot tell you how liberating it is to know those days are behind me. And after this summer, I have to commend myself. You’ve come a long way, baby, hopping planes and getting out of Miami for the majority of the season, seeing new places, trying new things and rocking my own tan with a tale behind it. Now, as summer…Read More

Tropical Formal

{Wearing: Blue Waves Dress: TouchDolls. Shoes: Steve Madden. Herba Earrings: c/o Tarbay. Hair: Glamsquad. Photographed by Jorge Camaraza.} One of the many trips I’ve been on this summer was to Captive Island for a wedding. A wedding in which the invite read “Tropical Formal” as the attire. Tropical formal? What does that mean? Is that like a tux and flip-flops? Is it a bedazzled bikini with a floor-length sarong? And what kind of handbag goes with that look? As a freelancer for The Knot (my job, when I’m not emptying the thoughts that roll around in my head here on the blog), I felt I needed to nail this. I mean, I work for a wedding magazine, the wedding magazine. Not being able to decode wedding dress attire, well, that’s kind of embarrassing, no? So I started the search, the quest for this tropical formal situation that had me completely perplexed. I stepped into…Read More

Miami Spa Month Still Going

{My Spa Month Experience c/o Agua at The Delano}  {Braid by L’Oréal Professionnel} Attention, Miami, as of today, August 3, 2016, you still have 28 days left to pamper yourself at Miami Spa Month. From now until August 31, spa treatments are all the rage. I unwound from swim week with a chill afternoon at Agua at The Delano. After slipping into my white robe, I sat back and relaxed in their white lounge, overlooking the beach. After flipping through a few pages of a local mag and finding my vibe, my masseuse came to take me away to a candlelit room. For the next 90 minutes, sheer bliss. I opted for the Citrus Scrub & Rub ($199 for 90 minutes). We started off polishing my skin to perfection with a basil & lemon sugar scrub. Then, it was off to the shower to wash off what the scrub left…Read More
