Going Nude at Neiman Marcus

{Snakeskin dress: Karina Grimaldi. Shoes: Fergie c/o Famous Footwear. Bag: c/o Miss Gustto. Mini rings: Necklace: Vintage. Photographed by the very awesome socks Juliana Cardona of} So what are we wearing on our eyes and lips for fall? Nothing, baby. We’re going nude. OK, not really, but we want it to look that way. Neiman Marcus in Coral Gables recently asked me to talk about the nude beauty trend for fall, and I jumped at the chance. I’ve always loved rocking a nude lip with a smokey eye. Or a nude eye with a big, red lip (my personal fave). But to put it all together was even more fun. An au natural overall, if you will. The night went a little something like this … A director’s chair with your blog name, swoon! Jana Rose Carrero of and I pretty much climb behind our seats and…Read More

Emerald City

{Leather and Emerald Green Dress: Karina Grimaldi. Necklace: c/o Bare Collection The Orbit Necklace. Booties: Steve Madden.} What are the fall trends I’ve fallen for this season? Societe Perrier asked, so I answered in their Miami fall fashion blogger roundup, which you can peep here.   I’m obsessed with the leather trend, I love emerald green, I can’t get enough of statement necklaces and I found THE perfect bootie for Miami (open toe and heel). The best part: My dress is made by the amazing local designer Karina Grimaldi. Supporting local brands is something that is so close to my heart. Miami has a pool of talented designers. Seek them out when you go in search of your fall wardrobe. I know I’ll be sporting this number again come Basel.

Affordable Fall Fashion

In case you missed it yesterday, I broke down affordable fall trends on NBC 6 6 in the Mix. Click the link below to see for yourself: Some of my favorite trends for the season are the black and white trend, the leather trend and the animal print trend. As seen above, fellow blogger Dara Michelle is wearing the animal print trend, executed with C&C California Designed by Stephanie bengal tiger leggings, a black coated sweater from Blush, as well as a statement necklace and a pop of color with her Miss Gustto bag. Dara Michelle’s look clock in just above $300. Erin sported black and white with a white top, faux leather skirt and pop or red (my favorite pop of the season), all available from Blush. Erin’s whole look sells for $191. What a deal. And finally, the other Erin (my favorite Miami sketch artist) wore the…Read More

Spreading Peace and Love

{Hoodie: Peace Love World I am Hooked on Love. Matching shorts: Peace Love World. Tank: Forever 21. Necklaces: Love Me Necklaces c/o Jeux de Vie. Shoes: c/o Vans.} As much as I love playing dress up, I equally love dressing down. I’m talking about the comfy stuff. The stuff you throw on the minute you unbind yourself from the restricting clothes you wore to work. Enter Peace Love World. I initially came across the brand when a publicist mailed me a sweatshirt so I could familiarize myself with Miami designer Alina Villasante’s work. It just so happened to arrive at mi casa that one weird week in Miami when it got cold. I put the sweatshirt on, declared it the softest thing on planet earth, tucked my thumb into the thumb holes on the sleeves and didn’t take it off for a solid week. Comments like “Don’t you own other…Read More

Crushin’ on Blush

{Dress: Shoes: BCBG. Necklace: Vintage} I’m a Blush girl. I stop in at least twice a month. I scan the website when I know I have somewhere to be and nothing to wear. And a large chunk of my wardrobe is from there. Yup, I’m a Blush girl. And this week I get to share my favorites from the site as part of Blush Boutique’s blogger campaign. So if you need to add a few things to your closet, might I suggest hopping over to My latest fave, this amazing maxi dress I scooped up the day it came in. Unfortunately, it’s sold out, but rumor has it there might be more to come sooner than later. Trust me, it’s the perfect Miami frock. The backless aspect is like built-in AC. Those girls are Blush are true geniuses when it comes to picking what Miami girls simply can’t live…Read More

A Hint of Red

{Top: Forever 21. Shorts: Forever 21. Shoes: Zara. Bag: c/o Ecco Belaga Handbag. Necklace: Hearts Recycled Wine Bottle Glass Cascade Necklace.} OK, so here it is, my first official “fall” post. And here I am in fall attire. Miami fall, anyway. It is still very much 95 degrees out. So what about my outfit makes it fall? The return of red. It’s also been my favorite color. It’s supposed to be—I’m an aries. And now that it’s back in vogue as a fall trend, I’m sporting it as my pop, seen here in my awesome Ecco Belaga bag. The shape of this bag is kind of amazing, too. Nothing gets lost in the bottom, ever. That in and of itself is worth its weight in gold. I’ll also be popping red on my lips, nails, shoes, scarves, anywhere I can. It gives basic black and white (another fall trend) umph….Read More

New York Fashion Week is Over

Credit: Rag & Bone And scene. New York Fashion Week is done. Over. Finished. Chances are you spent a week lusting after, scrutinizing and tracking the trends you’ll want come spring 2014. Here are just a few of the trends that caught my eye, which I kept track of on the Blackberry Q10. (FYI keep reading to find out how you can trend track on your own Blackberry, which one lucky fashionista will win from today’s post.)   White Out There’s nothing I love more about spring trends than the crisp, clean look of white. This year it was head-to-toe at more than a few shows. One of my personal favorites was this look from Thakoon. The boots. Can we just talk about the boots? Credit: Thakoon   Sheer Feminity Leave it up to Jill Stuart, one of my all-time favorite designers, to make girly sexy again. Her short skirts…Read More

Sweater Weather

{Dress: c/o T.J. Maxx. Cardi: c/o Marshall’s. Necklace: Vintage. Shoes: c/o T.J. Maxx} Let me paint a picture for you: It’s 95 degrees outside. Just the idea of putting on a pair of jeans makes tiny little drops of sweat bead up and trickle down your forehead. The nape of your neck dampening, causing the base of your hair to absorb the perspiration. BUT you still have a cardigan in your purse, a long-sleeved sweater packed up and ready to go. Because you and I both know the minute you go from the sweat lodge that is Miami in August and into a) the grocery store b) the movie theatre c) a restaurant d) than bank e) basically any establishment that has central air, there’s going to be an arctic blast so intense, you’re going to need to sweater up. The worst offender, fyi, is the Victoria’s Secret on Lincoln…Read More
