Stretch it Out

I’m a little over the moon today. Refinery29 featured three yogis in a how-to yoga story. I’m one of them, along with Asha Elias and Sharon Aluma. {Full wheel variation in my new LuluLemon bra.} {Camel.} Both Sharon and Asha are amazing yogis and teachers at Green Monkey. I was thrilled to be in their presence as they struck some truly awesome poses, captured by Justin Namon. Yoga is a huge part of my life. It’s the 90 minutes a day I get to unplug and just breathe. Check out the story and how to get into the poses here. I’m the one doing the backbend series. And for a real yoga experience, catch one of Asha or Sharon‘s classes. Be prepared to sweat.

Dressing up in Denim, Lace and Diamonds

I did it. I drank the Kool-aid. I dove into the lace shorts trend head-on. How could I not? I’m a vintage girl at heart and lace just screams bygone days. I scooped up these little shorts at Forever 21 a few months back. They came in horrible burnt orange or navy. I went with navy since it’s the new black. As for the button-up with a sparkly necklace, I was heavily sweating this trend and then I wore it in Miami … in July, which just made me sweat. Perhaps I’ll revisit the whole buttoned-up collar spiel when it cools down … in October. Until then, here’s a look at what I wore to my Tom Ford makeover. {Zara shirt, D&G denim vest, Forever 21 lace shorts, Jill Stuart shoes, vintage bag, Forever 21 ring, vintage necklace.}

My Date With Tom Ford

Sure, Miami was the last city on earth to get an H&M, but, as it turns out, we’re one of just 10 cities in the U.S. to get a Tom Ford makeup counter. Parked at Neiman Marcus Bal Harbour Shops, this new gem has everything Mr. Ford puts his magic touch on, including secrets to his beyond smokey eye and his uber glam red lip. {All that’s missing is Mr. Ford himself.} {Dewy glow maker.} Turns out, Tom is big on getting a dewy glow. And here’s his secret to making it happen. This primer—which is something I never wear because I suffer from oily skin and I live in Miami, where it’s like walking on the surface of the sun most days, and that combo makes for a mighty skin mess—is actually pretty sheer, meaning even Miami girls can rock it. The collection contains 132 products, including a nail…Read More

The EB True Hollywood Story of Swag

Let’s clear things up right away, because based on this post, my house looks like a hot mess. No, I am not a hoarder. This is actually the swag from one week at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim taking up three stairs and a little floor at my house. I got the idea to further investigate our obsession with swag bags when I offered bloggers Kristin Clark of Living in Color Print and Ana Ortuno of Chic Streets and Eats a place to store their freebies (my car) between shows. The next day I went to give Kristin her swag and at least one of the bags alone weighed a good 10 pounds. And she, like the rest of us, had been carrying it around with her the whole night. So, what’s in these bags anyway, that’s worth lugging around with you while you tetter in heels in the sand. Let’s take…Read More

What I Wore to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim: Seven Looks in Five Days

Raise your hand if you have post traumatic swim week disorder. I don’t even know what day it is anymore. I had a blast documenting the Lycra invasion that took over Miami Beach for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim, but I promise this will be my second to last swim week-related post. And I plan to make the last one funny, so it won’t be as painful. Anyhoo, here’s a look at what I wore this past week to and from the shows. I tried to keep cool in the blazing inferno that is Miami in July, hence the mid-day change-a-roos.   {The pre-shows: Hot pink boho skirt retrieved from Ebay, Forever 21 tank, vintage necklaces, Lola James necklace, vintage purse, Steve Madden wannabe shoes from Payless. Worn to Ready, Set, Swim and Cosmo en Espanol at Soho House.} {Day 1: Alexis top and pants, vintage necklace, bangle and purse, Jimmy Choo shoes. Worn to Bal Harbour…Read More

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim Day 5

And on the fifth and final day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim, it was sunny, it was rainy, reality celebs stormed the catwalk. I saw kids, and I saw wigs. Here’s a reap of Monday’s affairs. {During the day, I took a trip over to The Tides on Ocean Drive to get the scoop on the local line Bikini Flavors. Finally, a brand that gets it.  Think Brazilian, reversible, interchangeable, uber wearable. Each suit can be worn no less than 50 different ways.} {A crochet top, all handmade, that’s built to last. It’s made from the same material as a regular suit so swimming in macrame isn’t an obstacle.} {Then, over to Soho House for a look at the line Paradisiac, a collection of swimwear, jewelry, shoes and accessories with a beachy theme. I’m obsessed with these starfish bracelets.} {Trust me, mermaid/fish/whale tales are the next big thing in must-have…Read More

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim Day 4

It’s official, I’ve seen enough models in bikinis to keep any man happy for the rest of his natural life. And that’s not even the most shocking part. On the second to last day of swim week, as the rain set in and our mojo started to fade (OK, our mojos been dead for days, but we keep on truckin’—in heels in the sand no less), I saw the best yet. On day four. Here’s a recap of what happened on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim. {Impending doom in Miami Beach. The annual swim week monsoon sets it.} {But it was safe and dry and Salon Allure’s sample sale at the Perry.} {I tried on at least 20 suits, including a few from my fave, Red Carter. If you didn’t make it, you totally missed out. With suits priced at anywhere from $25 to $100, it was a steal….Read More
